Boarding

We are committed to treating your pets as though they were our own. When you leave town you can be confident that your pet will be well-loved and cared for at East Padden Animal Hospital. We absolutely encourage you to call and check in on your pet while you are away.

We have many comfy beds and blankets that we provide, and ask that you keep belongings at home. Because we frequently change bedding to keep it clean, it is easy for belongings to get lost or damaged once in our laundry system, and we’d hate for your pet to lose a favorite item! We have all sizes of bowls and plenty of toys, so you can rest assured that your pet will have everything they need during their stay.

Facilities are limited, so plan ahead and call as early as possible when booking during the holiday seasons.

Our feline guests have their own suite to enjoy away from the dogs. They each have their own cat condo, as well as the ability to take turns enjoying free-time out in the room to test a number of comfy beds and fun toys. Our canine guests each have their own large run and are walked and played with a minimum of 3 times daily.

Boarding Policies:

For protection of all pets, we require that all of our guests be current on vaccinations. We are advocates of 3 year vaccine protocols; however the Bordetella vaccine for dogs must be given yearly. We do accept current vaccine titers and medical waivers. If your pet has not had an exam, or their exam is past due, one will be required for vaccine administration. Our required vaccines are:

For Dogs: Rabies, DAP & Bordetella
For Cats: HCP, Rabies

In order to maintain a flea-free environment, we inspect all pets for fleas and, if present, administer a pesticide-free pill called Capstar, to kill all adult fleas at a nominal charge.

It is also important for our clients to understand that as a medical facility, we cannot leave pets untreated during their stay, especially if their condition could affect other pets in our care. For this reason, you will be required to authorize East Padden to administer appropriate medical care in the event of significant illness or injury that is life threatening or causing significant discomfort/distress to your pet. If you prefer not to authorize care in the event that it is needed, you will be asked to pick up your pet.

Our boarding days are billed in 24-hour cycles that run from 12pm noon to 12pm noon. This time period is broken up into half-days, with a checkout deadline at noon. If your checkout deadline is missed, you will be charged for an additional day of boarding.

Please call East Padden Animal Hospital ahead of boarding to discuss pricing and the status of your pet’s vaccinations. Please also let us know if your pet has any signs of respiratory illness (such as coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, eye discharge, etc.) or has been exposed to another pet with respiratory illness in the past two weeks.

We absolutely encourage you to call and check in on your pet while you are away. Of course, you can always bring your pet’s favorite toys or beds to make your little (or big) ones comfortable.
